Welcome

Join us for Meet & Move - where movement and community come together.

Experience gentle movement, education, and support tailored for cancer recovery and chronic conditions.

· Our sessions feature a fully adaptable circuit, both seated and standing.

· Enhance your fatigue management, balance, strength, and confidence.

· Join us for a monthly wiggle and walk, equipped with modified poles and silent disco headsets.

· Enjoy chatting, refreshments, and educational insights.

· No specific fitness level is necessary.

· Led by Fiona Palmer - a Cancer Rehabilitation Exercise Specialist, Clinical Pilates Practitioner, and Vodder Lymphoedema Specialist.

Referral criteria

You may be suitable for Meet & Move if you:

  • Have had a diagnosis of cancer and were treated at an ESNEFT Hospital

  • Would like support to improve or maintain your physical strength, movement or fitness

  • Are able to take part in gentle to moderate exercise with adaptations


The programme may not be suitable if you:

  • Have a medical condition that makes exercise unsafe without specialist input

  • Require urgent or complex medical care

When: Every Monday from 12:15 PM to 1:45 PM

How to Join

You can refer yourself to the programme; no healthcare professional referral is needed. The instructor will triage your referral and contact you by phone or email.

To self-refer:

  1. Make sure you fulfil the referral criteria stated above

  2. Click the self-referral link below

  3. Complete and submit the online referral form

Once your referral has been received, your instructor will review your information and contact you to discuss the next steps.

What’s the parking like at Golf Green Community Hall?

There is free, off-street parking directly outside the venue.

Is the venue accessible?

The local council and the Golf Green Hall Trust have ensured the facility remains accessible for all visitors:

  • Level Access: The venue is designed to provide level, barrier-free access for wheelchair users and mobility scooters.

  • Accessible Facilities: The hall is also equipped with appropriate accessible toilets for public use.

Where do I go when I get to the centre?

Go to reception and the receptionist will direct you.

What if I can’t do the exercises?  

The exercises can be adapted to suit. If standing is a problem for example, then exercises can be carried out seated.

What if I’m not fit enough?

The class is a gentle movement class. You can take lots of rests and work your way round at your own pace.

I don’t know what I can and can’t do.

Don’t worry. The instructor will guide you and adapt where necessary. If exercise is new to you this is the ideal class to get you started.
